Adeline DeBella is a contemporary flutist, vocalist, improviser, and chamber musician based in New York City. She is active in performing and commissioning interdisciplinary works for solo flute/voice, low flutes, and unconventional chamber ensembles. Adeline is a Trevor James Low Flutes artist. Additionally, she is a founding member of Dice Trio and Duo Bellota, both ensembles committed to experimental performance and discovery of new music.
Addy has recently attended New Music on the Point, Norfolk Chamber Music Festival: New Music Workshop, the SPLICE Institute, and Nief-Norf Summer Festival. Here, she collaborated with composers and premiered new works for solo flute, flute and electronics, and small chamber ensembles. Other festivals include Music from Angel Fire, Composers Conference Contemporary Performance Institute, the Consummate Flutist at Carnegie Mellon University and le Domaine Forget de Charlevoix in Québec, and she has performed in masterclasses for flutists Robert Dick, Leone Buyse, and Mario Caroli.
Outside of performing, Addy has experience in a variety of administrative roles. She is the Social Media Content Manager and Assistant to the Artistic Directors for the Music from Angel Fire festival. Recently she fulfilled roles as the membership administrator/marketing director of the Association of Body Mapping Education and a playtester at the Flute Center of New York. She has previously worked as a technology producer for the National Flute Association, and assisted with organizing and recording the Purchase Flute Studio Commission Project.
Addy holds a Master’s of Contemporary Performance from the Manhattan School of Music and a Master’s of Music Performance in flute from SUNY Purchase College, where she studied under Dr. Tara Helen O’Connor. She holds a Bachelor’s of Music Performance in flute from Columbus State University, where she studied under Dr. Andrèe Martin.
